Friends, Cheese and Beer!

We've hanging out in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio. We saw a sign on the highway near Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin for a historic brewery tour and decided to check it out. We ended up getting to tour the Leinenkugel's brewery, and the process is pretty fascinating! A few miles down the highway we stopped at this cool family owned cheese house called Yellowstone Cheese where we got to sample bacon cheese, garlic and herb cheese, BBQ wing cheese, horseradish cheese, and some fresh cheese curds. It was by far the best cheese we've ever had and we're definitely going to miss it now that we've left Wisconsin!

The next day we stopped in Green Bay to see Lambeau Field. We were hoping to take a tour, but unfortunately they were all full. From there we drove into Michigan's upper peninsula, where we camped on Lake Michigan. The next morning we went to St. Ignace where we climbed an observation tower and checked out a car show.

We crossed the bridge into the lower peninsula and visited Traverse City and Detroit. In Detroit we went to the Henry Ford museum--there's some amazing American History there! We also took a stroll on the Detroit Riverwalk downtown. Detroit and the friendly people there definitely left a positive impression on us.

Our next stop was Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, the roller coaster capital of the world. That was definitely one of our favorite days so far! The picture at the bottom of this post is of a roller coaster that launches you at 120 miles per hour vertically up 420 feet. We also got to ride the Millennium Force, which was voted the top steel roller coaster in the world.
